I Am The Weapon

Previously published as Boy Nobody

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, June 2013

He was the perfect assassin.

No fear, no regrets, no questions.

Until a mission brings up memories he shouldn’t have and feelings too dangerous to admit.

A boy shows up in a new high school, in a new town. He makes a few friends and stays just long enough for someone in his new friend’s family to die.  Since the age of eleven, when his own parents died of not-so-natural causes, Boy Nobody has been working for The Program, a shadowy government agency that uses kids as counter-espionage operatives. Boy Nobody is a teenage Jason Bourne, trained to accomplish two things: infiltrate and assassinate.  He may be one of a handful, or one of hundreds.

But somewhere deep inside, is somebody: the boy he once was, the boy who wants normal things (like a real home, real parents…and a girlfriend wouldn’t hurt), a boy who wants out — and a boy who just might want those things badly enough to stop Boy Nobody from completing The Program’s next mission.

First in a three book series.
